The Woodlands is a master-planned community in Montgomery County, Texas, north of Houston. Founded in 1974 by oil magnate George P. Mitchell, it is one of the largest master-planned communities in the United States, with extensive nature preserves, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, and Market Street.
